with Carmit Zori, Jon Manasse, and Jon Nakamatsu September 19-26, 2010
ENROLLMENT FOR THIS CLASS IS NOW CLOSED.
This week is for amateur classical chamber musicians who love to play and want to learn from true masters. Course members will have the opportunity to meet each other and practice on their own or with groups for the first two days; thereafter they will be coached for a few hours each day by the teachers, on a rotating basis. The balance of the day will be free to allow for further rehearsal or sightseeing trips.
On Friday, the week of chamber music will culminate with a triumphant concert at Teatro Poliziano in Montepulciano. And on Saturday, there will be a gala dinner at La Palazzina, perhaps enhanced by some spontaneous music.
We hope participants will submit tapes and a self-rating no later than March 31, 2010, after which Carmit, Jon, and Jon will select the instrumentation (piano, strings, limited winds, and brass), players, and music. Pre-formed groups are welcomed. There will be a maximum of 20 players; the selection process should be complete by April 30, 2010. (We can be a little flexible with these dates!) The link to the Self-Rating Page of the Amateur Chamber Music Players is here.
There will also be space for 10 class auditors, serious lovers of music.
