TUSCANY: A JOURNEY FOR THE SENSES POLICY PAGE
Program weeks occur in the Spring and Fall months, or when the teacher/artist is available.
Costs: For the most part, prices are in Euros, because all costs are calculated in euros. Dollar equivalent is figured at time of each payment (deposits and final balance due). The printed prices were set almost a year in advance of the program year; therefore, we reserve the right to add a surcharge if local prices increase substantially.
Payments: There is a non-refundable registration fee of $250, which secures your place in the program. The courses are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration fee is accepted only if there are spaces remaining in the desired course, otherwise it is returned. This $250 fee is considered part of the program cost.
Deposit 1: Made at time of registration or immediately after. A letter will list details. This deposit will be 25% or 50% of program cost, depending upon time intervening between payment and class start date. If Deposit 1 is made more than 4 months prior to class start date, 25% deposit is required. Deposit 2: Made only if Deposit 1 is 25% of program cost. This payment is due 4 months before class start date. If deposit 2 is made, it is 50% of program cost. Balance due: Made 60 days before class start date, this payment is the balance due of the program cost, either 25% or 50% .
Payment can be made on-line through Paypal or with old-fashioned checks, made out to Tuscany: A Journey for the Senses LLC and mailed to Joan Hill, Tuscany Journey, P.O. Box 1605, North Eastham, MA 02651.
Gift certificates are available. Contact Joan at 508-255-7907 or

Cancellations: Your entire deposit, minus the $250 registration fee, will be returned to you, if a cancellation is made 60 days or more before class start date. If you cancel your place in the class less than 60 days before class start date, you forfeit all monies paid to date. Extreme medical emergencies will be the only exception to this rule.
Inclusions in Price for all classes: Lodging (double occupancy) and breakfasts and dinners (there is a single supplement fee which varies, depending upon accommodation) Teacher/Artist fee Administration fee Airport transfer (from/to Rome (preferable) or Florence) Local transportation Entry to scheduled museums and exhibits, parks and other activities Exclusions in Price for all classes: Airfare from departure point to Rome or Florence Most lunches, depending upon class Dinners, if the class spends time in another city, i.e., Florence
Please note that the prices of classes vary, due to the type and complexity of class, scheduled activities, accommodation, and time of year.
Medical and Physical Needs: We will try to accommodate all individuals. Italy has an "ADA" law, but it applies only to new and restored buildings. We ask that you be honest with us about your medical needs and with any problems you might encounter; we will, in turn, be honest with you about how your problems might affect the enjoyment of the trip. Because we are small, we can be flexible. If someone needs medical care, we have several doctors and medical facilities at our disposal.
Liability: We will do our utmost to ensure your safety. However, we cannot be liable for illness, terrorism, or natural disasters. We strongly recommend that you purchase Travelers Insurance, which is usually done at the time you receive receipt for your deposit.
We who organize and run Tuscany: A Journey for the Senses, LLC, (Joan Hill , its teachers, and the owners and managers of our accommodations) have done and will continue to do our best to provide you with a safe and pleasant educational environment. The above-mentioned persons shall not be held responsible for any damages, loss, delay, omission or irregularity which may occur, whether by reason of any act, negligence or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out any of our arrangements or otherwise in connection herewith. The above-mentioned persons cannot be held responsible for a client's sickness or personal accident, forces of nature, or other problems, unless one or all of the above persons is found guilty of gross negligence.
Class Size: For most classes, the maximum number of participants is 14 and the minimum 8. However, depending upon the artist's decision, a class may have a different maximum size or may have a smaller minimum size. If the artist/teacher determines that a class is too small, we reserve the right to cancel that class. In that case, your monies will be returned in full.
Class Schedule and Itinerary: The artist who is leading the class is responsible for the curriculum of the class, and in conjunction with the director of the program, decides upon the schedule and itinerary. We work very hard to make a sensible itinerary and schedule and to give you the biggest bang for your buck. Each class, therefore, varies greatly. An art history class, for example, will travel to many different towns to see a broad spectrum of art, while a hands-on art class - pastel or floral arranging or writing - will be given a lot of down time to pursue one's art.
