tuscany: a journey for the senses

Color & Emotion:   Capturing the Tuscan Landscape

with Tom Stringe

May 2 - 9, 2010

ENROLLMENT FOR THIS CLASS IS NOW CLOSED.

Tom received his BFA in creative writing from Michigan State University in 1975 and then attended the University of Arizona, pursuing a graduate degree in Eastern Studies.  But he found his true passion when he picked up a brush in 1991 after moving to Cape Cod with his partner Jim.  Numerous years and awards later, he is pleased to be in collections across the country and around the world.

Tom is known for the passionate quality of his work and vibrant use of color.  He loves the spontaneity of watercolor and hopes to impart his passion for the medium to his students.

Each of the five daily classes will start with a watercolor demonstration by Tom, with the style and subject matter varying by the location we find ourselves in.  Questions during the demo are encouraged.  Afterwards we will all paint and Tom will give individual attention and assistance as requested.

"We're going to have an exciting painting experience and when we return home, we'll have a "Tuscan Exhibition" featuring works done in Tuscany and inspired by our journey at Tom and Jim's gallery on Cape Cod."

See some of Tom's work at his gallery website.
